God told the woman in the Garden of Eden the Good News that she would conceive and that her offspring would crush the head of the serpent tempter (Genesis 3:15-16). God’s angels spoke to the women at the empty tomb of Jesus on Easter Sunday giving them news of the fulfillment of this prophecy (Luke 24:1-10).
If Jesus had not risen from the dead he would have been the one who was crushed. But by conquering death a crushing defeat was turned into a crushing victory!
