Treat Women As If Theyre Cursed

TREAT WOMEN AS IF THEY’RE CURSED? NO WAY!

Yet translators incorrectly translate Genesis 3:16a! They make it read as if God inflicts the woman with one thing – sounding like a curse – “painful-childbearing.” There is a better way! It is the correct way!

GOD PROMISED TWO THINGS

In Genesis 3:16a God promised two things – not one thing. This is clear because the Hebrew words are organized as an interlocking pattern, or linchpin, in which two words – connected by “and” – point up and point down to the surrounding verses (15 and 17).

“YOUR-SORROWFUL-TOIL”

The first thing was “sorrowful-toil” (Hebrew word – ‘itsabon). It points down to the effect of increased fieldwork resulting from the curse on the ground because of the man.

“AND-YOUR-CONCEPTION”

The second thing was the Good News of the “conception” (Hebrew word – heron). It points up one verse to the promised Offspring who would crush the tempter’s head!
